Numbers and place value

- Subtract 4-digit numbers (column method) Column subtraction, laid out for written working.
Multiplication and division
- Column multiplication Written (column) multiplication.
- Division with remainders Divide by a one-digit number. Write remainders as R, e.g. 7 R 3.
Fractions and decimals
- Compare fractions Same denominators, same numerators, and equivalent fractions.
- Equivalent fractions Find the missing numerator or denominator.
- Add and subtract fractions (same denominator) Any correct equivalent form is accepted online; the key shows the simplest form.
Measurement, money and time
- Money with decimals: totals and change Add prices with paise, cents or pence and work out change.
- Convert units of measure Length, mass, capacity and time conversions.
Shapes and geometry
- Area of rectangles Count unit squares, then use length × width.
